FAA approval for aircraft mechanic license

Obtaining FAA approval and documents you will need for an aircraft mechanic (A and P) license.


Once you have established that you are eligible, the next step is to go to your local FAA Flight Safety District Office (click here for list of offices).

You will be required to present the FAA with documentation that verifies your eligibility - your military records showing that you have held one of the required military job codes or a civilian letter of recommendation. See the Eligibility section for sample documents. You will be required to complete two (2) FAA 8610-2 Forms (click here for printable form) and show positive identification. There is no charge for this service.
